Document Description
Alameda County Public Works Agency is proposing sidewalk improvements on Haviland Avenue from Medford Avenue to Blossom Way in the unincorporated area of Hayward. The project involves construction of new pervious and Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) sidewalk, driveway, curb and gutter, and pedestrian ramps. Additional work includes: removal of three (3) ornamental trees, roadway reconstruction, signing and striping; landscaping and planting approximately 23 new street trees; private property conforms work (upon granted permission by property owner); and utility relocations and addition of one new storm drain if needed. All construction work would be within the existing right of way. Traffic controls will be implemented during the project to manage vehicular and bicycle traffic. Best Management Practices (BMPs) will be installed during the project to prevent stormwater pollution and to control sediment loss and erosion. The purpose of the project is to improve pedestrian facilities and stormwater drainage along this roadway.
