Document Description
The Project will perform soil boring tests and install wells to meet requirements from the Department of Toxic Substances Control. Approximately 26 soil boring samples taken from 6 locations, ranging from 85 to 100 feet deep, will be taken in the vicinity of the Chico Regional Airport. Additionally, 2 groundwater monitoring wells will be installed. These wells will be 12 inches wide and reach up to 110 feet deep. The interior will consist of a 2-inch-diameter pipe surrounded by cement fill.

The project involves soil boring tests and the installation of groundwater monitoring wells in highly disturbed, urbanized areas. There are no unusual circumstances leading to a reasonable possibility that significant environmental impacts will result from the project. Therefore, the City finds that the project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) in accordance with CEQA Section 15303 (d).
