Document Description
The Lopez Tank Replacement Project (Project) proposes to replace the existing 240,000-gallon steel water distribution tank at the Lopez Lake Recreation Area. which is owned and maintained by the County of San Luis Obispo (County). The existing water tank is due for replacement. and the Project proposes to replace the existing tank in-kind with a 240,000-gallon welded steel tank in the same location. The tank provides domestic water to visitors to the Lopez Recreation Area and provides primary fire suppression for the area. Project actions include utilizing a temporary tank to provide uninterrupted water supply while demolishing and replacing the existing water tank and restoring water supply via the new tank. The new tank color will meet County standards for visual resources and has been selected to match the existing character of the surrounding area.
