Reasons for Exemption
The project consists of the operation of a small recycling facility located within an existing food market. This recycling center is a buyback recycling facility that purchases small recyclable material with the California Redemption Value label (CRV material). The market is required to provide an on site recycling center under Assembly Bill 2020 “The California Beverage Container Recycling and Litter Reduction Act”, 1986. The new use is ancillary to the primary use, a food market, and therefore is considered to have negligible impact and there is no expansion of the building proposed under this permit.
