Reasons for Exemption
The proposed restaurant will operate within an existing 14,038 square-foot tenant space and will undergo interior alterations. The addition of the Type 41 alcohol license will not require expansions to the existing use. The restaurant use is consistent with the Whittier Boulevard Specific Plan (WBSP), specifically in the Shopping Cluster District. Therefore, the City of Whittier has determined that the project will not have a significant effect on the environment and a Notice of Exemption will be filed pursuant to Section 15301, Class 1 (Existing Facilities) of the CEQA Guidelines.
