Document Description
San Joaquin Field Division (SJFD) plans to repair an erosion and replace a down drain with an open trough. Due to massive rainfall, the slope adjacent to the California aqueduct access road, near Milham Ave, has eroded and is starting to undercut the access road. SJFD staff will repair the erosion by removing the old down drain and compacting the area with a sheepsfoot attached to a backhoe. Base material would be transported to the site via a dump truck and dumped into the erosion. A water truck may be used to control dust and aid in compaction. Any damaged asphalt would be removed, and new asphalt would be laid. Lastly, an open trough down drain would be installed by hand. Work is estimated to take less than 2 weeks to complete. All work would be completed within DWR’s right of way. This work is necessary to maintain the access road.
