Document Description
The proposed project would extend the existing truck climbing lane in the westbound direction of State Route 46 approximately 5,000 feet (0.95 mile), from post mile 60.3 in San Luis Obispo County to post mile 0.4 in Kern County. An existing 5’x5’ square concrete box culvert (30 feet long) crosses under State Route 46 at post mile 60.57 would also be extended to accommodate the extension of the truck climbing lane. The associated guardrail at the culvert location will be removed and replaced. The project will also correct a deficient vertical curve, which will improve sight distance on the state route.
