Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project is exempt under State CEQA Guidelines Sections 15301 - Existing Facilities and 15303 - New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures, which is a Class 3 exemption. Class 3 exemptions, "consists of construction and location of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures; installation of small new equipment and facilities in small structures; and the conversion of existing small structures from one use to another where only minor modifications are made in the exterior of the structure. The numbers of structures described in this section are the maximum allowable on any legal parcel." As stated above, the proposed project consists of a request by Elliot Sloan, property owner, for approval of a Minor Use Permit for a skateboard ramp at an existing single-family residence.
