Document Description
The purpose of this project is to improve a pedestrian crossing at an uncontrolled intersection, which is near an elementary school. This project includes the installation of Rapid Flashing Beacons (NS22PB/R37PB) along with the utilization of enhanced safety features (NS21 PB), including in-roadway warning lights. This project is intended to benefit the residents, students who attend the school, and visitors of the City of Parlier.

The work of this project will all occur within existing public facilities and involve minor alterations to an existing pedestrian crossing. This project will not create any automobile lanes and will not need any additional right-of-way to be acquired in order to carry out this project. Thus, there will be negligible or no expansion of use associated with this project. The project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) review as a Class 1 existing facilities project for the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use pursuant to the California Code of Regulations, Title 14 Section 15301 (c).
