Document Description
The project is a roadway maintenance project and proposes to rehabilitate the pavement of the Franklin Boulevard and incorporate active transportation and safety improvements where the opportunity exists. The anticipated pavement rehabilitation method will include base repair, grind, and micro surfacing. The project will replace the striping and install Class II buffered bike lanes along Franklin Boulevard. Other improvements include new curb ramps and green markings. There is potential for delineators in the bike lane buffer, and proposed reconstruction of a pedestrian crossing island at the intersection of Franklin Boulevard and Forest Parkway/Shining Star Drive northbound. This project does not include the addition of new bikeway facilities. Electrical improvements include new traffic signal cabinets for all intersections, accessible pedestrian signals, video detection, and additional displays for through movements. Sacramento County will provide a new cabinet/controller for the intersection of Shining Star/Forest Parkway.

The project consists of the replacement of existing traffic signal equipment where the new equipment will be located at the same area as the equipment to be replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity.
