Document Description
Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) owns and operates the Hemet Water Filtration Plant (HWFP) located in the city of Hemet. The HWFP treats State Project Water supplies to potable standards using ultrafiltration membrane technology. Leaking pipe wall penetrations and corroded piping have been observed in all six trains in the membrane tank. The Hemet Water Filtration Membrane Building Pipe Repair Project (project) will repair and (replace as needed) deteriorated flanges and pipe segments using polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) to provide additional corrosion resistance and add expansion joints to accommodate movement. The project would also repair the tank coating. The work would be sequenced so that only one membrane tank is offline at a time, maintaining near full production during the repair work. The beneficiaries of this project are EMWD’s diverse customers, and the communities served. The District implements and manages predictive and maintenance programs that enable a highly reliable operation of EMWD’s facilities and extend the useful life of assets.
