Document Description
The City of Coachella proposes to construct up to 2,500 linear feet of a new 20 inch waterline from Grapefruit Blvd to Airport Blvd, under the concrete lined Whitewater River/Coachella Storm Drain, which will run parallel to the proposed CVWD waterline. The new line will not connect to any water source until a future waterline is constructed along Grapefruit Blvd from Airport Blvd to Avenue 54 as a separate project.

Reasons for Exemption
The Project will construct up to 2,500 feet of a new waterline predominately within public right-of-way. This new waterline is Categorically Exempt under 15301, 15303, and 15301 for minor alteration of public facilities, 15303 for construction of a new water main, and 15304 for minor trenching and backfilling. The Project is also Statutorily Exempt under 15282(k) for installation of a new pipeline within public right-of-way less than one mile in length.
