Document Description
On April 16, 2024, the City Council of the City of Eureka approved a lane reduction and street improvements on H and I Streets between Ist and 2nd Streets to add buffered bike lanes and diagonal parking. H and I Streets between Ist and 2nd Streets are two lane one-way streets. The project includes the removal of the southbound number 2 lane on H Street and the northbound number I lane on I Street, between Ist and 2nd Streets to allow for the installation of a buffered bike lane and the addition of diagonal parking where parallel parking existed. The diagonal parking reconfiguration will add additional parking to Old Town. The addition of diagonal parking allows for uniformity with the existing diagonal parking between 2nd and 4th Streets. Incorporating the buffered bike lane on H and I Streets will close the bike lane gap between 1st Street and 6th Street where new buffered bike lanes will be installed.
