In coordination with CAL FIRE, PG&E proposes to underground the power line located on 2517 Hwy 4. The CAL FIRE parcel is a mix of mixed conifer and urban environment, including buildings to support CalFire activities, as well as landscaped and natural vegetation. Within CAL FIRE property, PG&E will underground approximately 0.10 miles of electric distribution facilities, replace approximately 385 feet of existing underground conductor, and remove approximately 0.22 mile of overhead service line and associated distribution poles, anchors, and hardware. Trenching for the new underground conductor will follow a new alignment, be no more than 2 feet wide, and may be as narrow as 7 inches, with a depth of 3 to 4 feet. The PG&E electric facilities will consist of underground conduit for electric distribution lines and associated boxes. A pad-mounted transformer, pad-mounted interrupter, and retaining wall will be installed. Two Cedar trees and 10 units of brush will be removed as part of the project work occurring on or proximal to land managed by CAL FIRE.
