Reasons for Exemption
Proposed project will install speed humps on two local streets for traffic safety. Locations are existing paved streets and installation of the speed humps involves minimal disturbance. The project is categorically exempt from environmental review pursuant to CEQA Guideline Chapter 3, Article 19, Section 15301 (c) which exempts the repair, maintenance, or minor alteration of existing highways and streets, sidewalks, gutters, bicycle and pedestrian trails, and similar facilities (this includes road grading for the purpose of public safety), and other alterations such as the addition of bicycle facilities; and Chapter 3, Article 19, Section 15302 (c) which exempts the replacement or reconstruction of existing facilities with negligible or no expansion of capacity.
