Document Description
The proposed Niguel Shores Water Service Replacements Project (Project) involves the removal and replacement of 20 water services, 5 fire hydrant assemblies, and 5 valve/tee assemblies along Periwinkle Drive and Leeward Drive within the Niguel Shores Community Association in the City of Dana Point (City). The South Coast Water District (SCWD) would serve as the lead agency for this proposed Project. The proposed Project site is located within a residential community surrounded by an urban environment including roads and single-family homes. The proposed Project would involve the following activities – removal and replacement of 20 water service lines, 5 fire hydrants, and 5 valve/tee assemblies; modification of existing facilities as required to facilitate interface and connection to new improvements; disinfection of piping to local and State Health Department standards; connection of new piping to the existing water system; and removal and replacement of pavement to restore paving and sitework to preconstruction conditions. All improvements would be located within SCWD’s water service area on public right-of-way (ROW) or a private residential road in the Niguel Shores Community.
