Document Description
Pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1652, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife has approved the Arroyo Grande Creek Stream Gauge Modification Project submitted by Creek Lands Conservation, represented by Don Chartrand. The primary purpose of the Project is to improve fish passage conditions within Arroyo Grande Creek by removing an existing concrete weir associated with a San Luis Obispo County stream gauge and replacing it with a cast-in-place V-shape-notched concrete weir. The jump height of the new weir will be lower than that of the existing weir. The new weir is also expected to reduce stream velocity. The Project will restore fish passage for all salmonid life stages and will provide fish access to 3.3 miles of habitat.
