Reasons for Exemption
The proposed shade structure for the Uber, Lyft, and Taxi pick-up area is exempt under Section 15303: Class 3 because it is considered a minor addition to an existing airport facility to be installed on an existing paved parking lot area to support an existing use without increasing customer or staff capacity. The proposed replacement of carpet in the main terminal lobby and security checkpoint, installation of eight water fill stations for portable water bottles; and installation of seating benches are exempt under Section 15301: Class 1 or capacity because the proposed changes are minor alternation to an existing airport facility (Main Terminal) without increasing the footprint of the building.
