Document Description
The project will involve the thinning of immature under story trees, brush, and downed dead material using labor crews. At least 100 trees per acre will be retained throughout the project site. Cut material shall be no larger than 8 inches in diameter measured 4.5 feet above the ground. Cut material will be piled for future burning. Piles will be covered with plastic or waxed paper upon creation to allow for burning outside the fire season. The project area is approximately 13 acres and is located adjacent to a residential area in Solano County. The project will decrease surface and ladder fuels, making construction of fire line, and conducting firing operations by firefighting agency's quicker and safer in the event of a wildfire.

The project will involve minor ground disturbance, incidental to equipment travel throughout project area. The project will not involve any grading or excavation. The project will not involve the removal of mature or scenic trees, and will not result in loss of forest cover or a change in the predominant vegetation type. The project is located in an area that is closed to the public and is at least 1/2 mile away from nearest public road, structure or private residence. The project area was evaluated by a Registered Professional Forester and found not to contain endangered, rare or threatened plant or animal species.
