Document Description
The Project will remove concrete debris and large riprap, remove invasive, non-native species, ornamental, and native trees within the grading footprint, grade the area's existing steep slopes to a minimum 2:1 slope, and plant native vegetation to improve native habitat and bank stability. Ecological functions resulting from this Project include increased native plant biodiversity, water quality improvements, and natural River bank stabilization. Removal of invasive English ivy, Himalayan blackberry, black locust, and periwinkle will promote passive and active native plant recruitment in the Project area. Native sedges, rushes, willows, and riparian trees will be installed to help strengthen the natural River riparian bank and reduce overall erosion and sedimentation into the River. A minimum of 21 native trees will be planted. The Project will restore 0.229 acre of the River's riparian corridor and bank through invasive species removal and native revegetation.
