Document Description
This project involves replacement and rehabilitation of seven (7) deteriorating culverts between PM 13.50 and 18.54. The project is part of the larger Capital Preventative Maintenance (CAPM) project along SR 89. All the corrugated steel pipe (CSP) culverts will be replaced, upsized, and extended. The proposed culvert replacement at PM 13.50, PM 14.82, PM 16.77, and PM 18.38 will utilize the “cut and cover” method. Some culverts, specifically at PM 18.35, PM 18.47, and PM 18.54, will be replaced utilizing a trenchless/ jack and bore method. All culvert locations will include installation of new culvert headwalls, culvert flared end sections (FES), rock slope protection (RSP), 10’ debris walls, and Midwest guardrail systems (MGS). Most of the FESs are precast, and headwalls are often precast, but might be cast in place. In addition, a wildlife undercrossing will be installed at PM 18.38 and will include associated wildlife fencing and jump outs.
