Document Description
The City of Long Beach, will replace nineteen (19) existing lifeguard towers or chairs situated along sandy beach areas from Alamitos Beach to the Peninsula, specifically between 1st place and 62nd place. The replacement of existing lifeguard stations would be phased over four (4) years. Each replacement tower comprises a prefabricated unit with fiberglass shelter and a support structure/base. No grading, concrete footings, or any other secondary improvements are required for installation. The intention is to replace the existing stations while maintaining their general placement and location. The lifeguard stations are critical in ensuring the safety of beach visitors and the comfort and safety of City lifeguards. Refer to attached project description and locations.
