Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
§15301(c)(d)(h)(m); §15330(b)(1); §15331;
Reasons for Exemption
Class 1 Existing Facilities consists of the repair, maintenance, or minor alteration of existing structures, facilities, equipment, or features, involving negligible expansion of existing or former use. Further, Class 1(h) includes maintenance of existing water supply reservoirs; Class 1(m) consists of minor repairs to existing dams and appurtenant structures. Fern Lake Reservoir is eligible for listing in the NRHP and the CRHR as a contributor to the Sonoma State Home Historic District; however, a review of the project plans by a qualified Architectural Historian has determined that this project meets the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation and will not create a substantial adverse change in the significance of the resource. The State has confirmed no other exceptions to the exemptions apply.
