he San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) proposes to implement pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements on 17th Street between Potrero and Pennsylvania avenues. The project would upgrade existing Class II bicycle lanes into Class IV bikeways using delineators (safe hit posts), concrete, or parking as protection. Additional bike and pedestrian safety improvements include crossbikes, painted buffers with raised elements. painted corner treatments with raised elements, new STOP control, and new marked crosswalks.
