Document Description
The project consists of conducting a controlled burn of approximately 165 acres of annual grassland and Oak Woodlands located within Calero County Park. Project activities include igniting dried grass, cut brush and standing non-native weeds (thistle) through a broadcast burn pattern to improve conditions for native grasses, forbs and wildflowers. The purpose of the burn is to also provide important annual fire training for all local fire agencies in Santa Clara County. This training burn will provide critical wildland fire training for approximately 150 local and state firefighters over a three-day period.
