Document Description
The purpose of the Project is to repair and improve an existing access road at three locations (Sties 1, 2, and 3) where it crosses Navajo Canyon Creek and one of its tributaries to ensure that SDG&E vehicles can safely access the transmission lines for maintenance and emergency response year-round. The construction activities include grading to resurface the road, stabilizing a channel bank, and constructing two low water crossings made of at-grade reinforced concrete pavement to repair erosion and/or restore water flow across the access road to the historic stream channel. Temporary impacts to aquatic resources will be restored to pre-project contours and revegetated and unavoidable permanent impacts will be compensated through the purchase of compensatory mitigation bank credits.
