Document Description
Caltrans proposes to cold plane and overlay the westbound side of Interstate 40 (I-40) from Fox Wash Overflow (PM R140.0) to S Street Channel Bridge (PM R141.6) with 0.1 ft of Hot Mix Asphalt – Type O (HMA-O) and 0.1 ft of Cold Plane. A high-tension cable railing median barrier would be added from PM R140.7 to R142.2 (L Street UC). All work would occur within state Right-of-Way (ROW). The construction staging area is located between Needles HWY West Broadway River Road exit ramp and entrance ramp to I-40 West. The Fox Wash Overflow (54-705R/L), Lemming Wash (54-706R/L), and Roadrunner Wash (54-707) bridges are within the project limit and work is not anticipated within these washes. All work would occur on the top of the bridges. There may be temporary ramp closures during the daytime, when work takes place in the number 2 lane close to the ramp's exit and entrance.
