The Yuba County Airport is proposing to build a monument sign no taller than 24 feet in height and with 150 square feet of sign area. The purpose of this monument sign is to alleviate existing visual sign clutter at the proposed project intersection and for the businesses located in the Airport Business Park to be able to advertise.

Reasons for Exemption
The project is exempt pursuant to Section 15303 of the California Environmental Quality Act (New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures). Section 15303 ( c) provides exemptions for structures not involving the use of significant amounts of hazardous substances and not exceeding 2,500 square feet. The proposed sign will not be taller than 24 feet in height and have a base not more than 12 feet wide or 288 square feet. The sign will not utilize any materials known to have hazardous substances and, therefore, the project meets the requirements of Categorical Exemption 15303 ( c ).
