Document Description
The project modifies and updates space in the SESP to modernize and increase the number of CT scanner units in the department. An existing unit is beyond its useful life and at risk of malfunction; in addition, additional CT scanner capacity is necessary to meet patient demand. The project decommissions one existing Siemens CT scanner unit serving Room 1P742 in the Surgery and Emergency Services Pavilion and replaces it with a new GE scanner that meets current UCDH equipment standards. The project also reconfigures existing departmental space to establish a new room (1P745), that the project will equip with a new scanner. Specific scope elements include the removal of one existing unit’s CT scanner; demolition and requisite finish repairs; layout modifications to optimize the location of equipment in the department; cabling and electrical upgrades; lighting upgrades; and installation of two new GE Revolution scanners.
