A total of nine new automated gates, three new culverts, and three new check structures will be installed, replacing aging infrastructure and allowing for automated control of the Hungry Hollow, East Adams, and Acacia Canals. These improvements will bolster the District's ability to conduct groundwater recharge through its canal system in wet years and result in benefits for surrounding landowners who rely on groundwater supplies in dry years.
