Reasons for Exemption
The City of San Diego conducted an environmental review that determined the project would not have the potential to cause a significant effect on the environment. The project meets the criteria set forth In CEQA Section 15305, which allows for minor alterations to land as long as the average slope on site is less than 20% on average and would not result In any changes in land use or density. The Project proposes an easement vacation to vacate existing slope easements on the site where they are no longer required and will dedicate additional parkway for improved pedestrian access along Mira Mesa Boulevard and Pacific Heights Boulevard. The project site does not contain slopes greater than 20% on average across the site and would not change land use or increase density. Therefore, this exemption was deemed appropriate. In addition, the exceptions listed In CEQA Section 15300.2 would not apply. The site is not included on any list complied pursuant to Government Code Section 65962.5 for hazardous waste sites.
