Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-MAN-31217-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the Marin County Department of Public Works. The Project is limited to repairing an eroding embankment by installing a rip-rap buttress from the bottom of an existing retaining wall to the slope toe of Verde Canyon Creek, approximately 50 feet downslope. The area will be grubbed and cleared of vegetation; no trees will be removed. The work area will be excavated using machinery staged on Marshall-Petaluma Road, rebar will be placed in exposed cast in drilled hole concrete piles that are part of the existing retaining wall. High slump grout will be poured in any voids in the retaining wall. Filter base rock or geotextile fabric will be placed on the slope below the retaining wall. 260 cubic yards of rip-rap will be placed on the slope, covering an area of 1,980 square feet and 78.6 linear feet. Voids in the rip-rap would be filled with soil and planted with willow stakes. The Project will cause 1,980 square feet and 78.6 linear feet of permanent impact along Verde Canyon Creek. No temporary impacts will occur.
