Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-MAN-35535-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Marin County Parks. The Project is limited to removing an existing 30-foot long, 36-inch diameter corrugated metal culvert, 38 cubic yards of fill, and appurtenant concrete headwalls below a road crossing, and installing a new 45-foot long, 60-inch diameter high-density polyethylene culvert and 84 cubic yards of clean fill in the same location. The fill will be compacted and used to create a 2:1 slope above the culvert on both sides of the road crossing. Biodegradable coir logs will be installed on the fill slopes, native erosion control mix will be broadcast on the fill slopes and mulched with a biodegradable erosion control blanket, rice straw, or similar weed-free mulch to protect against erosion. Willow (Salix sp.) cuttings will be installed at the toe of the slope adjacent to the culvert inlet and outlet to provide slope protection from future erosion during high-flow events. The Project will result in approximately 10 square feet and 30 linear feet of temporary impacts and 61 square feet and 15 linear feet of permanent impacts to stream habitat. The Project will not remove trees and will not include stream dewatering or in-water work.
