Reasons for Exemption
Consistent with CEQA Guidelines Section 15262, the proposed project involves the preparation of only a feasibility study to determine the technical and permitting requirements that might be needed to construct an EPA-regulated Class 1 non-hazardous disposal well for the disposal of various waste liquids generated at the Tajiguas Landfill and ReSource Center. These liquids are currently managed onsite and/or transported off-site to approved and permitted disposal facilities. No approval or funding for the well is associated with the feasibility study and any project resulting from the feasibility study would be subject to separate CEQA review. Therefore,
the proposed feasibility study can be found to be statutorily exempt from CEQA.
