Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed
Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification Number PLA-53544-R2, pursuant to
section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Nevada Irrigation District.
The purpose of the project is to replace two existing deteriorating siphons to better serve
Nevada Irrigation District (NID) customers, the Orr Creek Siphon and the Dry Creek Siphon. The
replacement siphons will be located within NID’s existing 40-foot right-of-way easement that
extends 20 feet on either side of the existing siphon centerlines. The project is limited to
vegetation clearing and grubbing along the siphon alignments, trenching and backfill for siphon
installation, construction of the new siphons, temporary stream diversion/dewatering for the
siphon stream crossings at Orr Creek and Dry Creek, and project site restoration following
construction activities. The Orr Creek Siphon will be replaced by installing a new approximately
945-foot-long underground siphon culvert along the west side of the existing culvert. The Dry
Creek Siphon will be replaced by installing an approximately 3,350-foot-long new underground
siphon culvert along the western side of the existing culvert.
