Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
§15301, Existing Facilities; §15302, Replacement or Reconstruction; §15304, Minor Alterations to Land
Reasons for Exemption
The Project is exempt under Class 1, §15301, because it consists of alterations to an existing utility facility with negligible expansion of use; and under Class 2, §15302, because the Project would provide an earthquake resistant structure that will have the same recreational purpose as the existing building, without a sizable increase in capacity. The project is also exempt under Class 4, §15304 because the temporary structure(s) provided for recreational activities during construction would be considered a minor, temporary use of land having no permanent effects on the environment. In accordance with CEQA Guidelines Section 15300.2, no exceptions to the exemptions apply.
