Document Description
The Old Pirate Lane State Small Water System (OPL SSWS) is located in western Huntington Beach near the intersection of Old Pirate Drive and Graham Street. On January 30, 2020, the OPL SSWS and City were notified by the Orange County Health Care Agency that nitrate levels of ~16.7 ppm at the OPL Well exceeded the maximum contaminant level. In response, the City provided 13 affected residences temporary emergency access to the City's potable water system through a 2-inch water service. This project will consolidate the OPL SSWS into the City's potable water system via a 260' extension of an existing 8- inch water main and water meters to each affected residence; abandon the existing well and SSWS distribution system in accordance with State standards; resolve all issues concerning real property resulting from the dissolution of the OPL SSWS; and acquire the easements to construct and maintain the new public potable water infrastructure and water service to each affected residence.
