Document Description
The Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD) proposes the rehabilitation of production Well 5662-1 (Project). The Project consists of a 16-inch and 12-inch OD mild steel well casing and 12-inch OD wire wrap well screen. The purpose of the proposed rehabilitation is to remove scale and mineral build up and in turn restore the efficiency of the Well while also improving the water quality. Well testing and rehabilitation of existing water supply includes but is not limited to: pre-rehabilitation well performance testing, permanent pump and motor removal and inspection, downhole video surveys, installation of pump assembly, well rehabilitation, testing, and disinfection. Well rehabilitation may include the use of National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) approved chemicals including clay dispersant and liquid chlorine. Development water will be initially discharged to a tank for settling of solids prior to being discharged to an onsite detention basin or approved location. No ground disturbance activities will take place during construction. The project is anticipated to take place over the course of 9 months. No road closures will be needed, all construction work will take place on CVWD property. The proposed project site is located in rural residential area, and is not within a conservation area of the Coachella Valley Multiple Species Habitat Conservation Plan (CVMSHCP).
