The Transit and Intercity Rail Capital Program (TIRCP) Oakland Waterfront Mobility Hub - 8th Street Improvements project will improve safety for people walking, biking and taking transit along 8th Street between the Oakland neighborhoods of West Oakland, Downtown and Chinatown. Improvements will include pedestrian improvements such as new or upgraded sidewalks, pedestrian-scale lighting, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant curb ramps, crosswalk enhancements, bulb outs, and protected intersections; new or upgraded bike facilities; improvements to transit access; and signing and striping, pavement markings, pavement repair and modifications to existing utility facilities.
