Document Description
The purpose of this project is to create safer school routes for students walking to school and to encourage increased use of biking and walking. The project includes the construction of ADA curb ramps and bulb-outs, the installation of enhanced safety crosswalk features including in-roadway lights and a HAWK system, and the installation of Class II bike lanes. This project is intended to benefit students who attend the school, residents and visitors of the City of Parlier.

This project will involve minor alterations to existing public facilities. This project will not create any automobile lanes and will not need any additional right-of-way to be acquired in order to carry out this project. Thus, there will be negligible or no expansion of use associated with this project. The project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) review as a Class 1 existing facilities project for the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use pursuant to the California Code of Regulations, Title 14 Section 15301 (c).
