Document Description

The project would install 12 Verizon Wireless panel antennas, 9 radio units with radomes located on two 65 foot (ft) tall athletic field light standards, and a 355 square-foot above ground equipment enclosure. The property is located at 8285 Skyline Drive in the OP 1-1 Open Space zone of the Skyline Community Planning area, and Council District 4. The WCF is unmanned and is not for human habitation.

Reasons for Exemption
The City of San Diego conducted an environmental review that determined the project would not have the potential for causing a significance effect on the environment. The project meets the criteria set forth in CEQA Section 15301 which allows for the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use. The proposed project would modify an existing wireless communication facility (WCF) to maintain the operation of the facility, no expansion of the use is anticipated. In addition, the exceptions listed in CEQA Section 15300.2 would not apply.
