The 7th Street Connection Project will improve pedestrian facilities, create separated bike lanes, improve transit reliability, and enhance internet connectivity along the 7th Street corridor between Mandela Parkway and Martin Luther King Jr. Way. Improvements will include pedestrian improvements such as high visibility crosswalks, bulb-outs, upgraded sidewalk, pedestrian-scale lighting, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant curb ramps, and pedestrian refuge islands; bicycle improvements such as the installation of protected bike lanes; transit improvements including bus boarding islands and furnishings; and other improvements such as planting new street trees and green infrastructure, traffic signal improvements, signing and striping, and pavement markings.
