Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Class 1; Section 15301
Reasons for Exemption
The CEQA Guidelines Section 15301 categorically exempts projects that involve the repair, maintenance, or minor alteration to existing facilities, involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use. The project is exempt because it involves the upgrade and/or replacement of existing sewer lines that are physically damaged and/or to address an existing capacity deficiency that is identified in the City’s approved Sewer Master Plan. The proposed work does not trigger the exceptions to exemptions listed in CEQA Guidelines Section 15300.2 and does not expand the existing use.
