Work will: • Create a 200-ft shaded fuel break around campsites and roadways; • Retain live, healthy vigor trees over 8-inches DBH and remove ladder fuels of retained trees up to 10-ft above the ground; • Remove biomass (under 8-in DBH) from the dripline of larger retained trees to break fire movement continuity and reduce ground to crown fire behavior; • Thin understory shrubs to break up fire movement continuity; and • Reduce or rearrange surface fuels (dead and downed vegetation) through chipping, pile burning, and/or broadcast burns.
