Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to perform non-destructive testing on butt welds on Don Pedro Bridge (32-0018) on State Route 120 near postmile 19.61 in Tuolumne County. The proposed work includes temporary traffic control, providing hands-on access to the welds, removal of paint in areas around the welds, ultrasonic testing and acceptance/rejection of the welds, painting the areas around the welds, and incidental work. The purpose of the project is to verify the soundness of the butt welds in tension in the fracture critical members. The need of this project is to prevent and mitigate the loss or impairment of life, property, or essential public services.
