Document Description
The project is located on the former railroad right of way south of Highway 12 between Petaluma Avenue and Llano Road. The project will remove and replace two deteriorating bicycle and pedestrian bridges and four associated wood retaining walls on the Joe Rodota Trail in unincorporated Sonoma County, east of the City of Sebastopol. Two trestle bridges will be replaced with prefabricated steel bridges and the associated wood retaining walls will be replaced with concrete walls. Two temporary bridges and bypass trails will be provided for continued public use during construction. The proposed work includes drilling cast-in-place concrete piers, constructing new bridge abutments, retaining walls, paving asphalt to match the bridge approaches, erosion control, and restoring disturbed areas caused by construction activity. All work will be conducted within County owned parcels. If additional staging is needed on neighboring City owned parcels, an encroachment permit will be obtained for the City of Sebastopol or the City of Santa Rosa.
