Document Description
The Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) approves the Temporary Authorization to install and operate an Air Pollution Control System (APCS) as a part of the existing Lamp Machine (Unit 5 - Treatment Area #1, Lamp Machine miscellaneous unit described in the 2022 permit by DTSC). The Lamp Machine will be upgraded by adding two APCS. The operation of the two APCS keeps the Lamp Machine under negative pressure to keep hazardous waste (phosphorous powder and mercury vapor) from escaping.
The project is for temporary authorization to install an upgraded air pollution prevention system to existing equipment with minimal physical or operational changes and no ground disturbing activities.
