Document Description
Reconstruct the existing accessibility features at the Morro Bay Golf Course parking lot and clubhouse within Morro Bay State Park to bring them into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Work will:
- Demolish and remove the existing ramps and stairs to the clubhouse, and the driveway, sidewalk, and curbs;
- Sawcut and grind existing asphalt pavement;
- Install four (4) concrete accessible parking spaces and one (1) van accessible parking space;
- Install concrete sidewalks and curbs;
- Repave the asphalt driveway and parking lot;
- Install parking bumpers, trash enclosure, and accessibility signage.

Reasons for Exemption
Project consists of the operation, maintenance or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities or topographical features involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond current levels and is included as “Modifications of existing facilities for handicap access" in the Department of Parks and Recreation’s list of exempt activities in accordance with CCR §15300.4; replacement or reconstruction of existing structures and facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structures replaced, and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced; and the minor public or private alterations in the condition of land and/or vegetation which do not include the removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees.
