Document Description
The proposed project proposes to construct a new 3.15 MW (AC) PV parking canopy solar photovoltaic power generation system. The solar PV parking canopy system totals 3,857 kW(DC)/2,989 kW(AC) on approximately 5.60 acres at Coalinga State Hospital facility. The solar modules to be utilized in the System will be (8,867) Longi LR4-72HPH-435M watt modules, manufactured by Longi or equivalent. The power will be converted from direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC) at 480V ac using (8) 150kW(AC) SOLECTRIA XGI 1500-150/166-UL, (9) 125kW(AC) SOLECTRIA XGI 1500-125/150-UL, and (4) 166kW(AC) SOLECTRIA XGI 1500-166/166-UL inverters manufactured by Solectria (or equivalent) located at the end of each combined solar string. The converted AC power will be connected and combined prior to the metering equipment and switchgear. The System will deliver Electricity at the Facility distribution voltage utilizing a step-up transformer if required. Conduits and wires will be buried in trenches that run between canopy rows and connect the output of each array to combiner boxes before proceeding to the Point of Electrical Interconnection inside existing electrical switchgear and distribution panels.
This activity reflects the goals and objectives of Executive Order B-18-12 which requires reduced grid-based energy purchases for state-owned facilities, those of AB32, the California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006,
and Executive Order S03-05 which seeks to reduce the state’s greenhouse gas emissions.
