Document Description
The project would include the following pedestrian safety improvements: no right turn on red for northbound and westbound movements, advance limit lines and continental crosswalks, painted safety zones and slow-turn wedges, daylighting red zones at select intersections, and new 20-foot double-yellow centerlines at select intersection approaches. The painted safety zones, slow-turn wedges, and daylighting would slow turning vehicles and increase the visibility and safety of people walking in the crosswalks. The new 20-foot double-yellow centerlines would prevent vehicles from turning into the lane of oncoming cars or bikes. Up to six on-street parking spaces would be removed to implement the project. No excavation is required.
